CHAPTER 1: The Banquet Hall Breaks

CHAPTER 1: The Banquet Hall Breaks

The banquet hall was dressed in perfection.

Crystal chandeliers cast soft gold light over polished marble floors. Laughter floated above expensive perfume and clinking glasses.

Then—

CRASH.

A tray of champagne glasses shattered at the wife’s feet.

Silence snapped into place instantly.

All eyes turned to the young waitress standing frozen beside the broken glass, her hands trembling violently.

“I—I’m sorry,” she stammered, bending down in panic.

But the glamorous wife stepped forward before anyone else could speak.

Her heels clicked sharply against the floor.

“You again,” she said coldly.

The waitress froze.

The wife’s smile was sharp, not warm.

“I’ve been watching you.”

Murmurs spread through the guests.

“You think I don’t see what you’re doing?” the wife continued, louder now. “Hovering around my husband. Smiling at him. Getting too comfortable.”

The waitress shook her head quickly.

“No, I would never—”

“Enough.”

The slap didn’t land physically.

But the humiliation did.

The wife pointed at her like she was something beneath the room itself.

“Stay away from him. Do you understand?”

The hall went still.

The husband stood near the table, expression unreadable.

And the waitress—

stood alone in the center of a room that had already decided her guilt.
