Chapter 1: Every Camera Was Watching

Chapter 1: Every Camera Was Watching
The metallic clang of the security gate echoed through Level P4.
Mark looked from the locked exit to Richard.
His confidence disappeared.
"Mr. Harrison... this isn't what it looks like."
Richard didn't answer.
He walked straight to Emily.
Without saying a word, he gently took her bruised wrist into his hands.
Purple fingerprints were already forming beneath the skin.
Then he knelt in front of Leo.
"Hey, buddy."
Leo didn't speak.
He simply buried his face deeper into his mother's dress.
Richard noticed the scattered crayons and broken toy car lying across the concrete.
His jaw tightened.
One of the security officers quietly handed him a tablet.
"The live recording has been backed up, sir."
Richard pressed play.
The video replayed every second.
Mark slapping Emily.
Kicking Leo's backpack.
Twisting Emily's wrist while she stood seven months pregnant.
Raising his fist.
Every angle.
Every movement.
Every word.
Because unlike the cameras inside the offices above, the executive garage stored footage simultaneously on three encrypted servers.
It couldn't be erased.
Mark swallowed hard.
"I was... disciplining my family."
Richard slowly looked up.
"No."
"You were committing assault."
Mark forced a nervous laugh.
"We can settle this privately."
May you like
Richard's expression never changed.
"The police are already on their way."
