As the officers gathered statements, Daniel crossed his arms.

"Fine. Arrest me if you want."

"But she still has to leave."

"This is my apartment."

I quietly walked to the hallway cabinet.

Inside was a locked folder.

I removed a property deed.

The purchase agreement.

The title certificate.

And the prenuptial agreement signed three years earlier.

I handed them to the officer.

He carefully examined each document.

Then looked at Daniel.

"Sir..."

"According to these records..."

"This apartment belongs exclusively to your wife."

Daniel blinked.

"What?"

"That's impossible."

Vivian snatched at the papers.

"No, no... Daniel paid for everything!"

I calmly shook my head.

"My father purchased this property five years before I married Daniel."

"The mortgage has never existed."

"It was fully paid."

The officer nodded.

"The documents confirm that."

Daniel stared at me.

"You lied."

"No."

"I simply never corrected your assumptions."

His face slowly drained of color.

"You knew all this time?"

"I knew."

"And yet you let my mother call it her house every single day."

I looked around the dining room.
