Then Ethan dropped to his knees beside Ava.

His voice broke.
"You've been pretending to be okay for months."
Lena handed him the medicine bottle.
"I've been hiding these."
Ethan frowned.
"They're labeled as vitamin supplements."
"They're not."
Lena's eyes filled with tears.
"I watched your mother replace the bottles herself."
Within minutes, paramedics and police arrived.
While Ava was taken to the hospital, detectives searched Margaret's private office.
Behind a locked cabinet, they found hidden cameras, forged powers of attorney, altered medical records, and journals documenting every dose of sedative Ava had unknowingly received.
