Chapter 1: The Footage They Couldn't Delete
Three days after the incident, the country believed the official story.
The headlines all sounded the same.
"Business Heiress Suffers Mental Health Crisis at Sea."
Rodrigo Salcedo appeared on television with carefully measured sadness.
"Our daughter has struggled for some time," he said. "We're grateful she and our grandson survived."
Mariana watched the interview from a small coastal clinic where she and Nico were recovering.
Every word was a lie.
A nurse entered quietly.
"Someone is here to see you."
An older man stepped inside.
"Mrs. Salcedo... I'm Arturo Mendez. I maintain the security systems on your family's yacht."
Mariana stiffened.
"I wasn't able to stop what happened," he said. "But they couldn't erase everything."
He placed a small encrypted drive on the bedside table.
"The yacht automatically uploaded every camera recording to an off-site cloud server before anyone returned to port."

Mariana stared at the drive.
"The truth still exists."
