PART 2 UPDATE 🤍
It was a long day, but something in my gut told me to go back with Mama—and I’m so glad I did.
We found 8 newborn puppies just before the freezing temperatures hit.
Right now, the puppies are doing okay. They’re warm, safe, and finally getting some much-needed rest.
Mama, however, is in rough shape. She’s extremely thin, weak, and doing her best to conserve what little energy she has. Because she’s resting so much, she isn’t nursing as often as the puppies need. There’s a very good chance I’ll need to step in and begin bottle-feeding to help these little ones stay strong through the critical days ahead.
This is the part of rescue work that people don’t always see.
The first 48–72 hours take everything.
Physically. Emotionally. Mentally.
I’m cleaning up diarrhea, surviving on short stretches of sleep, and my home has become a full-time puppy ward. Because the puppies have worms, I can’t even walk barefoot in my own house. My space is small, and every corner is being used to save lives, so they’re currently staying in a kennel while we quarantine and monitor them closely.
And still... I love this work.
But loving it doesn’t mean it’s easy.
Every rescue takes a village. Every single one.
And right now, we truly need that village.

Please keep Mama and her babies in your thoughts. The next few days will be critical. 🤍🐾
