While paramedics examined Chloe and monitored the baby, detectives separated everyone for interviews.
Inside the house, Julian finally told the truth.
"Valerie worked for one of Dad's companies."
"She became pregnant."
Arthur immediately insisted the child had to remain connected to the family because of a business agreement involving Valerie's late father."
Chloe frowned.
"Then why did you sign?"
"Because Father threatened to destroy her life if I didn't."
Julian swallowed hard.
"He wanted everyone to believe the baby belonged to me."
"But I never had a relationship with Valerie."
Marcus unfolded another document from the envelope.
This one contained laboratory results.
DNA testing.
The biological father listed on the report was not Julian.
The room became silent.
Chloe slowly looked toward Arthur.
The billionaire refused to meet anyone's eyes.
One detective quietly asked,
"Mr. Vance... would you like to explain why your own name appears in these records?"
