One served foreclosure papers.
Another handed him notice that his personal accounts had been frozen pending fraud investigations.
Mara had discovered months earlier that Adrian had secretly diverted company funds to finance luxury vacations, gifts for Vanessa, and unauthorized investments.
The evidence had already been submitted to financial regulators.
Vanessa quietly slipped toward the back door.
Security stopped her.
"I'm just leaving."
The lead investigator answered calmly.
