A year later, Evelyn stood on the terrace of a small coastal home overlooking the ocean.

The air smelled of salt instead of fear.

Her phone rang.

It was her father.

"How are you?"

She smiled.

"Peaceful."

He laughed softly.

"I always hoped you'd discover that."

Evelyn looked toward the horizon.

She had once believed strength meant enduring pain in silence.

She knew better now.

Real strength was telling the truth.

It was asking for help.

It was refusing to let cruelty define the rest of your life.

The scars remained, but they no longer told the story of someone who had been broken.

They told the story of someone who had survived, reclaimed her voice, and built a future on her own terms.

And for the first time in a very long time, Evelyn felt something she had almost forgotten existed.
