Chapter 1: The Cameras Never Lied

Chapter 1: The Cameras Never Lied
The silence lasted only three seconds.
Then the emergency alarm inside the executive maternity suite activated automatically.
Red indicator lights flashed above the hallway.
Within moments, doctors, nurses, and hospital security officers rushed toward the room.
Marcus dropped to his knees beside Khloe.
"Khloe... stay with me."
She clutched his sleeve with trembling fingers.
"Our baby..."
Marcus gently placed his hand over her stomach.
"Our baby is going to be okay."
Behind him, Isabella burst into tears.
"Marcus, please... she attacked me first!"
Elaine Parker frowned.
"That's not what I saw."
Before Isabella could answer, another voice echoed through the hallway.
"Nobody leaves this floor."
Every head turned.
A distinguished man in his sixties walked toward them wearing a navy suit beneath a white medical coat.
Dr. William Carter.
Chairman of Lakefront Medical Center.
Head of the hospital board.
More importantly...
Khloe's uncle.
His calm expression disappeared the instant he saw his niece lying on the floor.
"Trauma Team Alpha."
"Operating Room Three."
"And lock down the Executive Wing."
Security immediately sealed every elevator leading to the VIP suites.
Electronic doors clicked shut.
Isabella's confidence began to disappear.
"What are you doing?"
Dr. Carter looked directly at her.
"I'm preserving a crime scene."
Marcus carefully kissed Khloe's forehead before doctors rushed her toward emergency surgery.
As the operating room doors closed...
Dr. Carter slowly looked up.
At the tiny black security camera hidden inside the chandelier.
Then he smiled.
"Good."
"Everything was recorded."
For the first time...
Isabella stopped crying.
