Chapter 1: The Truth on Camera

Marcus did not answer Isabella immediately.

His eyes moved from the shattered crystal to the bruises already darkening across Khloe's side. Then he saw the thin line of blood running down her arm where broken glass had cut through her sleeve.

"Marcus..." Isabella whispered, forcing another tear down her cheek. "She lost control. I was only trying to calm her."

Khloe struggled to breathe.

Every movement sent unbearable pain through her stomach.

"Our baby..." she whispered.

Marcus dropped to his knees beside his wife without looking at Isabella.

"Stay with me. Help is coming."

Elaine Parker finally found her voice.

"I'll call the emergency team!"

Before Isabella could continue her performance, the suite door opened once again.

A man wearing a hospital security badge entered, followed by two medical staff.

His name was Daniel Brooks.

To everyone else, he was simply the hospital's Director of Security.

To Khloe, he was Uncle Daniel—the man who had helped raise her after her parents died.

One look at Khloe was enough.

His face hardened.

"What happened?"

Isabella immediately pointed toward Khloe.

"She attacked me first."

Daniel said nothing.

Instead, he touched the earpiece connected to hospital security.

"Control Room."

"Yes, sir."

"Lock every surveillance recording from the Presidential Suite and every hallway connected to this floor."

A short pause followed.

"The footage has already been secured."

Daniel nodded.

"No one accesses it except me."

For the first time that evening, Isabella's confidence wavered.

"What footage?"

Daniel looked directly into her eyes.

"The footage showing exactly who assaulted my niece."

The room became completely silent.

Color drained from Isabella's face.

Marcus slowly stood.

"You knew Khloe?"

Daniel answered calmly.

"I've known her since the day she was born."

Before anyone could speak again, another cry escaped Khloe.

Doctors rushed her onto a stretcher.

Marcus climbed beside her as they disappeared toward the operating unit.

Behind them, Daniel turned toward two security officers.

"No one leaves this floor."

The officers stepped between Isabella and the elevator.

She suddenly realized something terrifying.

Her lies had lasted less than five minutes.

The cameras had seen everything.
