Marcus rose before he could speak.
"Khloe is stable," Dr. Brooks said.
"And the baby?"
"The baby is alive."
Marcus closed his eyes in relief.
"But," the doctor continued carefully, "both of them will need time to recover."
He then placed a tablet on the table.
"The hospital security footage has been reviewed."
Marcus watched every second.
He never looked away.
When the video ended, he quietly asked,
"Has anyone else seen this?"
"The investigators have."
