Chapter 3: The Man Behind the Silence
A voice echoed across the ballroom.
"I wouldn't do that."
Every head turned.
A tall man in a perfectly tailored midnight-blue tuxedo walked through the doors.
His expression remained calm.
Controlled.
Dangerously calm.
Daniel Harrington.
Owner of Harrington Palace.
Chairman of the Harrington Hospitality Group.
The man whose company employed every person inside the building.
Vivian smiled in relief.
"Daniel."
"Finally."
"Tell your staff to remove this girl."
He didn't answer.
Instead...
He walked directly to the woman in the wheelchair.
Then, without hesitation...
He knelt beside her.
"Mother..."
"Are you hurt?"
The ballroom froze.
Vivian stopped breathing.
The old woman smiled softly.
"I'm all right."
"This young lady made sure of that."
Daniel slowly stood.
His eyes settled on Claire.
"What is your name?"
"Claire Bennett, sir."
He nodded once.
"Thank you."
