Part 3 – The Hidden Camera

Part 3 – The Hidden Camera
That night...
After everyone went to bed...
I didn't sleep.
At 2:13 a.m., I walked into my home office.
Opened the estate's security system.
And reviewed every camera.
Living room.
Hallways.
Garage.
Kitchen.
Nothing.
Then I remembered something.
Three weeks earlier...
A contractor had installed a small camera inside the playroom after the boys kept wandering outside unnoticed.
Nobody ever mentioned it again.
I clicked the recording.
9:41 a.m.
The twins sat on the floor laughing with Maya.
She left the room carrying laundry.
Thirty seconds later...
Vivian walked in.
She looked around carefully.
Opened Maya's backpack.
Removed a velvet jewelry pouch from inside her own handbag.
Placed it into Maya's backpack.
Closed the zipper.
Then...
She smiled.
Not a nervous smile.
Not a guilty smile.
A satisfied one.
Exactly four minutes later...
She called the police.
I replayed the footage.
Again.
Again.
May you like
Again.
Every replay shattered another piece of the woman I thought I knew.
