Damian stared at the notifications flooding his phone.
Account access revoked.
Executive privileges terminated.
Board authorization denied.
One after another.
He looked up at Elena.
"This isn't possible."
She folded the document and placed it calmly on the conference table.
"It already happened."
Veronica stepped forward.
"You're bluffing."
Elena didn't answer.
Instead, the company's General Counsel entered the room carrying a leather portfolio.
He placed it in front of Damian.
"Board Resolution 47."
"Effective immediately."
He opened the folder.
"The Board of Directors has unanimously voted to remove Damian Carter as Chief Executive Officer for gross misconduct, abuse of authority, and breach of fiduciary duty."
Damian shook his head.
"They would never vote against me."
The attorney quietly replied,
"They didn't vote against you."
"They voted for the company."
Within minutes...
Screens across the executive floor displayed a company-wide announcement.
Interim Chairwoman: Elena Voss.
Employees gathered outside conference rooms.
Some whispered.
Others smiled.
Many simply looked relieved.
