Chapter 1: The Price of Humiliation

Chapter 1: The Price of Humiliation

The penthouse was silent except for the bride's trembling sobs.

Sophia's wedding gown, once flawless, was stained with tears and dust. Her veil had been ripped away, leaving strands of hair clinging to her tear-streaked face.

Her father, billionaire Alexander Vaughn, slowly removed his gloves.

He didn't ask who was responsible.

He already knew.

The groom's mother, Eleanor Whitmore, forced a smile.

"Mr. Vaughn... this is simply a misunderstanding."

Alexander looked at his daughter.

"Sophia."

She could barely lift her head.

"They said..." she whispered. "I wasn't worthy of their family."

Every person in the room froze.

"They made me kneel before every guest..."

Her voice cracked.

"They ordered me to sign a prenuptial agreement giving up everything..."

A pause.

"When I refused..."

She held up her shaking wrist.

Fresh bruises.

"They dragged me across the ballroom."

Alexander's face remained expressionless.

That frightened everyone even more.

The groom, Daniel Whitmore, finally spoke.

"My parents were only protecting our family's assets."

Alexander slowly turned toward him.

"So you watched."

Daniel swallowed.

"I... I didn't think it would go this far."

Alexander nodded once.

"You thought humiliation was negotiable."

Silence.

Then he quietly spoke into his phone.

"Begin."

Across the city...

Bank accounts froze.

Business contracts disappeared.

Three international banks canceled billions in credit lines.

Whitmore Corporation's stock collapsed before anyone inside the penthouse understood why.

Phones began ringing.

No one dared answer.

Alexander looked back at Daniel.

"This isn't revenge."

May you like

"It's accountability."

And it had only just begun.
