The woman who had slapped Lily stood silently in the corner.

She was Sophia's wealthy cousin, Vanessa.

Vanessa lowered her head.

"I'm sorry."

"No."

The wedding guests applauded quietly.

A few minutes later, Sophia turned toward the officiant.

"May we continue?"

The officiant smiled.
