Chapter 3: The Truth Behind the Coin

Chapter 3: The Truth Behind the Coin

The customers listened in complete silence.

One waitress quietly wiped away tears.

Samuel poured Ethan a cup of coffee.

"So..."

"What happened after that day?"

Ethan looked down at the silver coin.

"I was placed in foster care two weeks later."

"It wasn't easy."

"I worked after school."

"Studied every night."

"Sometimes I slept in libraries because they were warm."

Samuel's heart ached.

"But I remembered something."

"You treated me like a human being."

"That changed everything."

Years passed.

Ethan earned scholarships.

Graduated from college with honors.

Started a small logistics company with one delivery truck.

One truck became five.

Five became fifty.

Twenty years later...

His company operated across the country.

But despite the success...

He had never forgotten the little diner.

Or the chef who had fed him without asking for anything in return.

Samuel smiled proudly.

"I always knew you'd make something of yourself."

Ethan laughed.

May you like

"No."

"You just made me believe I could."
