The ballroom remained frozen.
Crystal chandeliers reflected across the polished marble floor.
No one dared to speak.
The elegant woman who had slapped the little boy stared at the man in the black suit.
"And who exactly are you?" she demanded.
The man ignored her.
Instead, he crouched in front of the boy.
"What happened, Leo?"
The little boy wiped his tears.
"I wasn't touching anything."
"I was just waiting for Mom."
"They said I didn't belong here."
The man's jaw tightened.
He gently touched the red mark on the child's cheek.
"Did she hit you?"
Leo nodded.
"She said servants should stay invisible."
Across the room, the boy's mother rushed forward.
"I'm so sorry, sir..."
She hugged her son tightly.
"We'll leave."
"No," the man replied calmly.
