CHAPTER 4 — WHERE SHE TRULY BELONGED

CHAPTER 4 — WHERE SHE TRULY BELONGED

Several months later, the palace gardens were filled with spring blossoms.

The official investigation had concluded.

The records had been corrected.

The truth had finally been acknowledged.

Grace stood beside Prince Alexander beneath an old oak tree.

She looked down at the silver pendant resting in her hand.

"It never made me who I was," she said softly.

Alexander smiled.

"No."

"It simply helped us find the truth."

Lady Victoria no longer held her position within the royal household after the investigation found she had concealed important historical records. The palace announced new archival safeguards to prevent anything similar from happening again.

Later that afternoon, reporters asked Grace whether she planned to accept a royal title.

She thought for a long moment before answering.

"I don't need a title to know my worth."

"I came here looking for answers."

"I found something much greater."

"And what was that?" a reporter asked.

She smiled.

"Family isn't defined only by blood."

"It's defined by the people who choose honesty over comfort... and love over fear."

As the palace bells rang across the city, Grace fastened the tiny silver pendant around her neck once more.

Not as a symbol of status.

But as a reminder that even the smallest piece of truth can change the course of an entire family.

The End.
