CHAPTER 2: THE FALL OF THE HEIR

CHAPTER 2: THE FALL OF THE HEIR

The chandeliers flickered once.

Then the entire mansion shifted into a different state.

Hidden panels along the walls unfolded like mechanical petals, revealing biometric scanners, encrypted terminals, and security nodes that didn’t belong in any “charity venue.”

Because it wasn’t one.

It never was.

Whispers erupted through the crowd.

“This is military-grade…”

“No civilian building has infrastructure like this…”

“Who is she?”

My attacker finally grabbed my wrist again—harder this time, desperation replacing arrogance.

“Tell them to stop this!” he hissed. “Do you know what my family will do to you?!”

I looked at his hand on me.

Then at his face.

“You still think your name matters in here.”

A soft chime echoed.

System override accepted.

His phone vibrated violently in his pocket. Then again. Then every device in the room began flashing the same symbol:

ACCESS DENIED.

Even his voice—when he tried to shout again—was ignored by the room itself. The system had deprioritized him.

Like he didn’t exist.

For the first time, he let go of me.

Not because he wanted to.

Because his body finally understood it had no authority left.

I stepped closer.

“You didn’t just assault someone,” I said quietly. “You did it in a place built to record everything.”

His eyes darted around.

“No… no, that’s not—”

“Yes,” I interrupted. “It is.”

May you like

And then the truth finally landed on him like weight.

“This gala… it’s a courtroom.”
