Six months later, Emily stood in the company headquarters holding her newborn daughter.
The business had new leadership.
Independent auditors had completed their review.
Employees received overdue protections and benefits that her father had wanted implemented years earlier.
The senior attorney handed Emily one final envelope.
"Your father asked that you receive this after everything was settled."
Inside was a short letter.
"Real wealth isn't measured by what you keep. It's measured by what you leave behind for others. Build something your daughter will be proud of."
Emily smiled through quiet tears.
She looked down at the sleeping baby in her arms.
"I will."
Outside, morning sunlight reflected from the city skyline.
