"Do you ever regret staying in the background for so long?" he asked.
She smiled thoughtfully.
"No."
"It showed me something money never could."
"What?"
She looked toward the employees beginning another ordinary workday.
"It showed me who respected me before they knew what I owned."
Outside, the morning sun reflected from the glass towers across the skyline.
Fortunes rise.
