Judith slowly stood.
"You wouldn't throw your own mother out."
Mason met her eyes.
"I would never throw out someone who acted like family."
Claire laughed nervously.
"You're joking."
"No."
Emma whispered,
"Mason..."
He gently squeezed her hand.
"You've apologized for them long enough."
Judith's expression hardened.
"If you do this, don't expect another dollar from the family."
"You'll lose your inheritance."
Mason walked into his office.
Opened his laptop.
Logged into several business accounts.
Then calmly replied,
"I don't need an inheritance."
"I built my own."
He clicked a few keys.
Within minutes, Judith's authorization on three investment accounts disappeared.
Her access to a vacation property was revoked.
Her company credit card was deactivated.
Claire's face turned pale.
"What are you doing?"
