PART 2 – The Return of the Robertson Name

PART 2 – The Return of the Robertson Name
The city bus had barely reached the next stop when three black luxury sedans appeared behind it.
Hailey frowned as she saw them through the window.
The bus driver pulled over.
A tall man in a dark suit stepped aboard.
He scanned the passengers before smiling gently.
"Mrs. Robertson?"
Hailey nodded.
"My name is Daniel. Your father asked us to bring you and Master Toby home."
Every passenger turned to look.
Daniel carefully took the diaper bag while another female security officer helped Hailey stand without hurting her incision.
For the first time since leaving the hospital, someone asked,
"Are you in pain, ma'am?"
Hailey nearly cried.
"Yes."
"You don't have to walk anymore."
Outside, the security team escorted her into a luxury medical transport vehicle equipped with reclining seats and a nurse.
The bus driver smiled warmly.
"Take care of yourself."
Hailey thanked him before the convoy drove away.
Two hours later...
Jasper returned to the apartment after lunch with his family.
He expected to find Hailey quietly feeding the baby.
Instead...
The front door was unlocked.
The apartment was empty.
The closets were half cleared.
The nursery was spotless.
Only one envelope remained on the dining table.
Inside was a single sentence.
I didn't leave because I stopped loving you. I left because you stopped respecting me.
Jasper laughed.
"Drama."
He reached for his phone to call Hailey.
No answer.
Again.
Voicemail.
Then another call came in.
"Mr. Jasper Collins?"
"Yes."
"This is Robertson Global Corporation's legal department."
"We are notifying you that the SUV currently in your possession remains registered under Robertson Family Holdings."
"You are required to return it immediately."
Jasper frowned.
"What?"
"My wife gave me that SUV."
"Our records show she never transferred ownership."
"It is not your property."
Before he could respond, another notification appeared.
Your company investors request an emergency board meeting tomorrow morning.

For the first time all day...
His confidence cracked.
