Victoria expected tears.
Begging.
Desperation.
Instead, Chloe became very still.
The kind of stillness that comes before a storm.
Because there was something the Sterling family did not know.
Something Ethan himself had never discovered.
Months earlier, before her marriage, Chloe's father had given her a sealed envelope.
"Open this only if the Sterlings ever show you who they really are."
At the time, she had laughed.
Now she remembered every word.

"Do you find something amusing?"
"No."
