PART 3: THE MAN WHO STOPPED BEING THE OWNER

PART 3: THE MAN WHO STOPPED BEING THE OWNER
Back outside, I watched the hotel windows.
One floor at a time, lights shifted.
Security protocols activating.
Internal lockdown procedures initializing.
My father’s voice came through again.
“All properties are syncing to central ownership registry.”
I exhaled slowly.
“Good.”
Inside, Marcus finally tried to leave the building.
But the doors didn’t respond.
He frowned.
“Open them,” he ordered security.
The guard scanned his badge.
Nothing.
Again.
Nothing.
A second guard tried.
Same result.
Then the front desk manager stepped forward slowly.
“Sir…” she said carefully, “your access privileges have been revoked.”
Marcus blinked.
“Excuse me?”
She looked down.
“I’m sorry. We’re under new executive command.”
His smile disappeared.
For the first time.
“New command?” he repeated.
“Yes,” she said softly.
A pause.
“From ownership.”
Marcus turned sharply.
“Call Isabella.”
No one moved.
He repeated louder.
“CALL HER.”
But every employee in the lobby looked away.
Because they already knew something Marcus didn’t.

Isabella wasn’t the one outside anymore.
She was the one issuing instructions.
