CHAPTER 4

CHAPTER 4
Victoria Blake’s Perfect Lie
A lie became dangerous when it was wrapped in enough truth to make people believe it.
Victoria Blake understood that better than anyone.
She never needed to scream.
She never needed to fight.
She never needed to openly attack Elena.
She only needed to appear innocent.
A soft voice.
A sad expression.
A carefully chosen moment.
And people would do the rest.
For years, Victoria had studied Elena Hart.
Not as a friend.
As an obstacle.
Because Victoria knew something Julian did not.
Elena was the reason his empire existed.
And as long as Elena stood beside him...
there was no place for Victoria.
The Woman Behind The Smile
Victoria Blake came from a wealthy family.
But not a powerful one.
Her family had money.
Connections.
Social status.
But they were always one step below families like the Harts.
The Blakes attended the same charity events.
Sat at the same tables.
Entered the same rooms.
But they were never the people controlling those rooms.
Victoria hated that.
She hated watching women like Elena walk into a room and command respect without trying.
Elena did not need expensive clothes.
She did not need to announce her achievements.
She did not need anyone's approval.
And that frustrated Victoria more than anything.
Because Victoria had spent her entire life trying to become someone people noticed.
Elena was born someone people respected.
The first time Victoria met Elena, she immediately recognized the difference.
It was at a business conference.
Julian introduced them.
"Victoria Blake. One of the most talented consultants in luxury hospitality."
Elena smiled politely.
"Nice to meet you."
That was all.
No jealousy.
No insecurity.
No competition.
Victoria expected more.
She expected Elena to feel threatened.
Instead, Elena treated her like she was invisible.
And that hurt.
Later that evening, Victoria watched Julian and Elena from across the room.
She noticed something.
Julian looked at Elena differently.
Not like a trophy wife.
Like someone whose opinion mattered.
Victoria understood immediately.
She could not defeat Elena by competing with her.
She had to change Julian's perception of her.
The Beginning Of The Manipulation
Victoria started small.
A compliment here.
A suggestion there.
"You know, Julian, not everyone understands your vision."
Julian looked at her.
"What do you mean?"
"Elena is talented."
A pause.
"But sometimes talented people don't understand the pressure leaders carry."
It sounded harmless.
That was the point.
Victoria never attacked Elena directly.
She planted doubts.
Slowly.
Carefully.
When Julian achieved another business milestone, Victoria was always there.
"You did this."
"You built this."
"You are incredible."
Words Elena rarely said because she assumed he already knew.
But Victoria understood something important.
People often become attached to whoever feeds their ego.
The Necklace
The emerald necklace was the first real victory.
The necklace belonged to Elena's grandmother.
A family heirloom passed down through generations.
It was not valuable because of the price.
It represented history.
Family.
Identity.
Elena wore it only on important occasions.
Victoria noticed.
She noticed everything.
Months before Elena was thrown out of the resort, the necklace disappeared.
Elena searched everywhere.
She asked Julian.
"Have you seen it?"
Julian barely looked up.
"No."
Victoria watched silently.
Because she already knew where it was.
The night of the resort opening, Victoria wore it.
Not by accident.
By design.
She wanted Elena to see.
She wanted Elena to understand.
This was no longer just about Julian.
Victoria was taking pieces of her life.
When Elena entered the penthouse and saw the emerald around Victoria's neck...
Victoria knew the moment had arrived.
"Where did you get that?"
Elena asked.
Victoria touched the necklace gently.
"Oh, this?"
She smiled.
"Julian gave it to me."
The pain on Elena's face lasted only seconds.
But Victoria noticed.
And she enjoyed it.
The Perfect Victim
Victoria knew Julian would never admit he was betraying Elena.
So she created another story.
A story where Elena was the problem.
"Julian, I think Elena is unhappy."
"What makes you say that?"
"She doesn't support you anymore."
A pause.
"She resents your success."
Julian listened.
Because the idea already existed somewhere inside him.
Victoria simply gave it a voice.
Soon Julian began seeing Elena differently.
Her advice became criticism.
Her intelligence became arrogance.
Her silence became disrespect.
Victoria did not change Elena.
She changed the way Julian saw her.
The Final Lie
The night before Julian removed Elena from the resort, Victoria gave him one final push.
"You know what people are saying?"
Julian looked up.
"What?"
"They think Elena controls you."
His expression changed.
"They think she is the reason you succeed."
Victoria watched the anger appear.
Because that was the wound.
Julian could accept losing money.
He could accept losing deals.
But he could not accept the idea that someone else deserved credit.
"She never believed in you."
Victoria whispered.
The lie was perfect.
Because it was built from Julian's own insecurity.
The next morning, Julian walked into the resort ready to destroy his marriage.
Victoria stood beside him.
Wearing Elena's coat.
Wearing Elena's necklace.
Holding the future she believed she had won.
When security escorted Elena outside, Victoria felt victorious.
She thought she had taken everything.
The husband.
The penthouse.
The empire.
She did not realize something.
The empire was never Julian's.
And the woman she defeated...
was not powerless.
That night, Victoria celebrated.
Champagne.
Luxury.
A private dinner in Elena's penthouse.
She looked around.
"This is finally my life."
But she did not know the truth.
The penthouse was borrowed.
The necklace was stolen.
The luxury was temporary.
Because before sunrise...
the Hart family would reveal the one thing Victoria never considered.
She had not defeated Elena Hart.
May you like
She had awakened her.
