The beams outside the mansion grew brighter.
Not one vehicle.
Six.
Black SUVs rolled through the iron gates in perfect formation.
Adrian frowned.
"I didn't invite anyone."
Vanessa forced a laugh.
"Probably your business partners."
The front doors opened before anyone reached them.
Men and women in dark suits entered first.
Behind them came two federal investigators.
And finally...
An older gentleman with silver hair stepped inside.
He looked directly at me.
"My daughter."
I slowly stood despite the pain.
"Dad."
His eyes briefly swept across the blood on the marble floor.
