CHAPTER 2 – The Headlights Outside

CHAPTER 2 – The Headlights Outside
The first black SUV stopped in front of the mansion.
Then another.
Then a third.
Adrian frowned.
"What the hell is this?"
Nobody answered.
Outside, more vehicles rolled silently through the iron gates. Their headlights flooded the marble foyer through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Vanessa stood up, suddenly nervous.
"Adrian... did you call someone?"
He shook his head.
"No."
The front door opened without a single knock.
Ten men in dark suits entered first, spreading through the room with military precision.
Behind them walked an older gentleman with silver hair, wearing a perfectly tailored charcoal suit.
He didn't look at Adrian.
He walked directly toward Evelyn.
Seeing the blood on his daughter's back, he stopped.
For a long moment, he said nothing.
Then he gently removed his jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders.
"I'm sorry," he whispered.
"I should have come sooner."
Evelyn smiled weakly.
"You told me to wait until the evidence was complete."
The old man's expression hardened.
"It is."
Only then did he turn toward Adrian.
"My name is William Hart."
"I own Hart Global Holdings."
Vanessa gasped.
Adrian's face turned white.
Hart Global.
The investment group that financed nearly every expansion of Vale Enterprises.
The company Adrian had spent years trying to impress.
He had never once met its mysterious chairman.
Until now.
"You..." Adrian stammered.
"You're her father?"
William nodded.
"And the majority shareholder behind every loan keeping your company alive."
Silence consumed the room.
Then William raised one hand.
"Proceed."
Within seconds, forensic accountants, financial investigators, and federal agents entered the mansion carrying sealed evidence boxes.
May you like
Adrian finally understood.
The punishment had only begun.
