Chapter 2 – The Lie Inside the Hospital Suite

Chapter 2 – The Lie Inside the Hospital Suite

The first lie was spoken before the ambulance doors closed.

And Isabella Rossi delivered it perfectly.

Her voice trembled.

Her eyes filled with tears.

Her hands shook just enough to make everyone believe she was frightened.

"I don't know what happened."

The sentence came out soft.

Almost broken.

"I came here to check on Khloe."

"I tried to talk to her."

"Then she became angry."

The nurses exchanged uncertain looks.

Isabella lowered her head.

"I never wanted this."

A performance.

A carefully designed performance.

And for years, Isabella had been excellent at acting.

People saw what they wanted to see.

The elegant woman in the expensive gown.

The woman from a respected family.

The woman who donated millions to charities.

The woman who always smiled for cameras.

Nobody wanted to believe that person could be dangerous.

But Marcus Thorne did not look at Isabella the way others did.

He looked at her like he was seeing a stranger.

Because the woman standing in front of him was not the woman society admired.

She was the woman who had just attacked his wife.

"Marcus..."

Isabella whispered.

"I know you're upset."

He said nothing.

"I was trying to help her."

Still nothing.

"I would never hurt Khloe."

That was when Marcus finally looked at her.

His expression was empty.

Cold.

"Stop."

The single word made Isabella freeze.

"You don't get to stand here and lie."

Her lips parted.

"I am not lying."

Marcus looked toward the hospital security camera.

Then back at her.

"You don't even know what was recorded."

For the first time...

Isabella's confidence disappeared.

Because she realized something.

Marcus was not reacting emotionally.

He was waiting.

Waiting for proof.

And that scared her more than anger ever could.

The Emergency Room

The doors opened.

Doctors rushed Khloe inside.

Marcus followed until a nurse stopped him.

"Sir, you need to wait outside."

He looked through the glass.

Khloe was surrounded by medical staff.

Her face was pale.

Her hand rested over her stomach.

"Please."

His voice cracked.

The nurse softened.

"We will do everything we can."

Those words were supposed to comfort him.

They didn't.

Because Marcus had spent his entire life solving problems.

Business problems.

Financial problems.

Legal problems.

But this...

This was the first time money could not immediately fix anything.

He sat down outside the room.

His hands were shaking.

A few minutes later, Adrian walked toward him.

The older man had changed out of his security uniform.

Marcus knew him as his mother's brother.

A man who had disappeared from the public eye years ago.

"You knew?"

Marcus asked.

Adrian looked at him.

"Knew what?"

"That she would do this."

Adrian sighed.

"No."

Then he looked toward the emergency room.

"But I knew someone was trying to destroy Khloe."

Marcus frowned.

"What are you talking about?"

Adrian reached into his pocket.

He removed a small folder.

Inside were photographs.

Messages.

Documents.

Marcus looked through them.

His face slowly changed.

"What is this?"

"Everything I found over the last three months."

Marcus stared.

"Three months?"

Adrian nodded.

"Someone has been trying to break your marriage."

Marcus looked at the messages.

Anonymous emails.

Fake rumors.

Pictures edited to look suspicious.

Every attack had one goal.

Make Marcus doubt Khloe.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because I didn't know who was behind it."

Adrian paused.

"Until tonight."

Marcus looked at him.

"Isabella."

Adrian nodded.

"She has been careful."

"Very careful."

Marcus clenched his fists.

"She was trying to make me leave my wife."

"No."

Adrian looked serious.

"She was trying to make Khloe believe she had already lost."

The Woman Behind the Tears

Meanwhile...

Isabella sat alone in a private hospital lounge.

The same woman who had entered the suite believing she controlled everything...

Was now desperately making phone calls.

"Answer the phone."

No response.

She called again.

Finally, someone picked up.

"Isabella?"

Her voice immediately changed.

"Dad."

Richard Rossi.

Her father.

One of the most influential men in the city.

"What happened?"

Isabella closed her eyes.

"They know."

Silence.

"What do you mean?"

"The cameras."

Another silence.

"They recorded everything."

For the first time, Isabella heard fear in her father's voice.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

She stood and started pacing.

"I need you to fix this."

Richard did not answer immediately.

Then he said:

"What exactly did you do?"

The question hurt.

Not because he asked.

Because she realized something.

Even her own father was not asking if she was okay.

He was asking how much damage she had caused.

"I lost control."

"You can't afford to lose control."

Isabella looked at the wall.

"I was supposed to have Marcus."

Her father sighed.

"Isabella..."

"No."

Her voice became sharper.

"I was supposed to have everything."

The Recording

Two hours later...

Marcus stood inside the hospital security room.

Adrian stood beside him.

On the screen...

The hallway outside the suite appeared.

The timestamp.

The date.

The exact moment.

The video began.

Isabella walking toward the suite.

Entering.

Closing the door.

Marcus watched silently.

Then came the confrontation.

No sound yet.

The security camera had captured only images.

But the images were enough.

The first shove.

Marcus stopped breathing.

The second attack.

His hands tightened.

Then the kick.

The moment Isabella's heel struck Khloe.

Marcus looked away.

For several seconds, he could not watch.

Because this was not a misunderstanding.

Not an argument.

Not a moment of anger.

It was intentional.

"She could have killed them."

Marcus whispered.

Adrian nodded.

"Yes."

Marcus looked back at the screen.

Something inside him changed.

The businessman disappeared.

The billionaire disappeared.

Only a husband and father remained.

"Get the police."

Adrian looked at him.

"Are you sure?"

Marcus turned.

"She attacked my wife and my child."

His voice was calm.

Too calm.

"She doesn't get another chance to rewrite the story."

The Public Nightmare Begins

By morning...

The entire city knew something had happened.

News outlets reported:

Billionaire Marcus Thorne's Pregnant Wife Hospitalized After Private Suite Incident

But the details were unclear.

Some people defended Isabella.

"She would never do something like that."

Others questioned her.

"Why was she alone with Khloe?"

The internet exploded.

And then...

A second story appeared.

SECURITY FOOTAGE MAY EXIST

That sentence changed everything.

Because suddenly, people were no longer debating rumors.

They were waiting for evidence.

Inside the hospital, Khloe finally woke up.

The first thing she asked was not:

"Where is Isabella?"

It was:

"Is my baby okay?"

Marcus held her hand.

His eyes were red.

"The baby is safe."

A tear escaped her eye.

"Thank God."

He kissed her hand.

"I am so sorry."

Khloe looked confused.

"For what?"

"For not seeing it sooner."

She looked at him.

"You didn't know."

"But I should have."

Silence filled the room.

Then Khloe whispered:

"She wanted you to hate me."

Marcus froze.

"What?"

"She kept saying I didn't belong."

Her voice shook.

"She said I took something that was supposed to be hers."

Marcus looked down.

Because suddenly...

Everything made sense.

The rumors.

The manipulation.

The attacks.

Isabella was not trying to hurt Khloe because of anger.

She was trying to erase her.

And now...

She had failed.

Because the woman she tried to destroy was about to become the reason her entire world collapsed.

Outside the hospital room...

Detectives arrived.

They carried a warrant.

And one message:

"Isabella Rossi, you are being investigated for attempted assault."

The perfect socialite.

The woman who believed she could control every story.

Was about to discover something she had forgotten.

Truth does not need permission to appear.

It only needs one person brave enough to reveal it.

And this time...

May you like

The camera had already spoken.
