The woman in the white designer suit took a step back.

Her heels nearly slipped on the broken glass.

“No…” she whispered, but it came out sharp, defensive. “This is impossible.”

The waitress didn’t react.

She just slowly reached up and unfastened the top button of her uniform collar.

Not in fear.

Not in panic.

In certainty.

The diamond necklace caught the rooftop lights.

A single crest-shaped pendant shimmered—engraved with a symbol every elite family in the city recognized.

The wealthy woman’s face drained completely.

“You… you’re dead,” she said.

The waitress tilted her head slightly.

“That’s what you told everyone.”

Behind her, one of the bodyguards spoke into his earpiece.

“Perimeter secured.”

That sentence landed heavier than the breaking glass.

Because bodyguards didn’t secure perimeters for waitresses.

They secured them for targets.

Or owners.

Or heirs.
