Chapter 2 – The Truth on Camera

Chapter 2 – The Truth on Camera

Alexander connected his phone to the enormous television in the living room.

Security footage appeared.

The timestamp showed earlier that morning.

Victoria walked into her father-in-law's study.

She looked over both shoulders.

Opened the display case.

Removed the vintage Rolex.

Then calmly walked upstairs.

Another camera picked her up entering the nanny's bedroom.

She slipped the watch beneath a stack of folded towels inside Emma's suitcase.

Thirty seconds later...

She walked out smiling.

The room became completely silent.

Emma covered her mouth.

"I knew it..."

Victoria's face drained of color.

"Alexander...I can explain."

He switched to another camera.

This one overlooked the hallway outside Emma's room.

It showed Victoria carrying the empty watch box before quietly dropping it into the trash can beside the door.

Every lie.

Every step.

Every second.

Recorded in crystal-clear 4K.

One guest whispered,

"My God..."

Alexander looked at his wife.

"Why?"

Victoria hesitated.

Then the truth spilled out.

"The children love her more than me."

"They run to her first."

"I just wanted her gone."

Emma stared in disbelief.

She had spent three years caring for the family's children.

Reading bedtime stories.

Helping with homework.

Comforting them when they were sick.

She never imagined kindness alone could make someone hate her.

Alexander quietly called the police.

"This is Alexander Hawthorne."

"I need officers at my residence."

"We have clear video evidence of false accusations and planted property."

Victoria realized, at that moment, her plan had completely collapsed.
