CHAPTER 2 — The Man Behind the Cameras

CHAPTER 2 — The Man Behind the Cameras
The laughter ended before anyone realized why.
The hotel employee was still smirking when a deep voice echoed across the marble lobby.
"Who touched my daughter?"
Silence.
Every guest turned toward the entrance.
Six security officers stepped aside.
Behind them walked a tall man in a perfectly tailored black suit.
Alexander Sterling.
Owner of the Sterling Grand Hotels.
His expression was calm.
Too calm.
The little girl looked up.
"Daddy."
She ran into his arms.
Alexander dropped to one knee without caring that his expensive suit brushed against the polished floor.
He gently examined the red handprint on her cheek.
"Did someone hurt you, Lily?"
She nodded.
"The lady said I didn't belong here."
Alexander closed his eyes for a brief moment.
When he stood again...
His face had become unreadable.
He looked directly at the employee.
"Your name?"
The woman suddenly lost her confidence.
"S-Sandra..."
"I thought she was—"
"A child?"
Alexander interrupted.
"Or someone you believed had no value?"
Sandra swallowed hard.
"I was protecting the hotel."
Alexander glanced around the lobby.
May you like
"No."
"You were protecting your prejudice."
