Chapter 1: The Camera Never Lied

Chapter 1: The Camera Never Lied

Silence filled the mansion.

Every employee stared at the security monitor.

Frame by frame, the footage revealed the truth.

The blonde woman, Veronica Ashford, glanced over her shoulder to make sure no one was watching.

Then she quietly slipped the diamond necklace into the maid's brown handbag before calling everyone into the lobby.

There was no mistake.

No misunderstanding.

Only a carefully planned trap.

The maid, Sofia, covered her mouth as tears streamed down her face.

"I told you..."

"I never stole anything."

The elderly housekeeper lowered her head in shame.

"So many of us doubted you."

The man in the blue suit—General Daniel Carter, a decorated military officer and owner of the mansion—turned toward Veronica.

"You accused an innocent woman."

"You humiliated her."

"And you expected everyone to believe your lies."

Veronica's confidence vanished.

"I... I can explain."

Daniel's voice was cold.

"No."

"You can explain it to the police."

Two security officers stepped forward.

As Veronica was escorted toward the front door, she shouted,

"You can't do this to me!"

Daniel looked at her without emotion.

"You did it to yourself."
