CHAPTER 2 — THE TRUTH NO ONE COULD HIDE

CHAPTER 2 — THE TRUTH NO ONE COULD HIDE
Nathan carried Emily through the mansion without looking back.
She trembled in his arms, clutching the front of his jacket with shaking fingers.
"I'm sorry," she whispered through tears.
"I couldn't protect our baby."
Nathan gently brushed a strand of hair away from her face.
"You have nothing to apologize for."
"You protected our child with everything you had."
The ambulance was already waiting outside.
As paramedics carefully examined Emily, Nathan remained beside her, refusing to let go of her hand.
Inside the mansion, however, chaos had erupted.
Police officers arrived only minutes later.
The woman in the red dress—Vanessa—continued insisting she was innocent.
"The video doesn't show everything!" she shouted.
"She provoked me!"
One of the officers calmly replayed the security footage on a large television in the living room.
Every guest watched in complete silence.
There was no argument.
No missing angle.
No misunderstanding.
The recording captured every cruel word.
Every shove.
Every desperate plea.
And the moment Vanessa deliberately pressed the sharp heel of her shoe onto Emily's hand while Emily shielded her unborn baby.
When the video ended, no one defended Vanessa.
Not even her own parents.
An elderly housekeeper slowly stepped forward.
She lowered her head before speaking.
"I've worked in this house for twenty-two years."
"I saw everything."
"I was too afraid to speak."
Tears filled her eyes.
"I'm sorry."
One by one, other servants admitted they had witnessed Vanessa's cruelty for years but had remained silent to keep their jobs.
Nathan listened without interrupting.
Then he looked directly at Vanessa.
"You didn't lose today because of the cameras."
"You lost because the truth eventually finds its voice."
Minutes later, the police escorted Vanessa out of the mansion.
The flashing lights disappeared into the night.
For the first time...
The house felt peaceful.
May you like
But Nathan knew one battle had ended.
Another was about to begin.
