Two days later, Emily remained in the hospital under close observation.
The baby was safe.
But the emotional stress had left her exhausted.
Nathan refused to leave her bedside.
Late that evening, an elderly lawyer arrived carrying a worn leather briefcase.
"My name is Richard Hale."
"I've been searching for you, Mrs. Emily Carter."
Emily frowned.
"I don't understand."
The lawyer carefully placed several documents on the bedside table.
"Your late father established a family trust before he passed away."
Emily's hands froze.
"My father died with nothing."
Richard slowly shook his head.
"That's what someone wanted you to believe."
Nathan looked up in surprise.
Richard opened the folder.
Inside were ownership certificates, photographs, and legal records.
"Your father owned this mansion."
Emily stared at him in disbelief.
"What?"
"The property was transferred illegally through forged documents years ago."
Richard pointed toward another file.
"And the woman who attacked you..."
"...has been living in your house."
The room fell silent.
Emily couldn't speak.
Everything she believed about her past suddenly collapsed.
Nathan gently squeezed her hand.
"You'll never face this alone again."
Richard smiled softly.
"We've already begun legal proceedings."
"And this time..."
"The law is on your side."
Outside the hospital window, the first rays of sunrise touched the city.
A new chapter was beginning.
