CHAPTER III – THE BREAD THAT SAVED TWO LIVES

CHAPTER III – THE BREAD THAT SAVED TWO LIVES

The baker finally exhaled.

She turned, grabbed a warm loaf from the shelf, and placed it gently into a bag.

“Sit,” she said quietly.

The boy hesitated. “We don’t want trouble—”

“I said sit.”

He obeyed.

He sat at a small table near the window, still holding his sister tightly.

The baker placed the bread in front of them.

The toddler didn’t wait.

She grabbed it with both hands and started eating immediately.

Fast.

Like she was afraid it might disappear.

The boy watched her silently, tears building in his eyes.

Then, for the first time, he let out a shaky breath.

“It’s okay now,” he whispered. “You can eat.”

The baker stood nearby, watching.

Finally, she spoke again.

“Where are your parents?”

The boy froze.

For a long moment, he said nothing.

Then he answered:

“We stopped waiting for them to come back.”

The bakery fell completely silent.

Even the air felt different now.

The baker slowly lowered her voice.

“Where do you sleep?”

The boy didn’t answer.

Because the truth was simple.

They didn’t sleep.

Not really.

ENDING (ENGLISH)

That day, a bakery filled with warmth became a place where truth could no longer be ignored.

A boy who had nothing asked for less than nothing.

And a little girl who had no words was finally given bread instead of silence.

No miracle fixed their lives that afternoon.

But something small changed—

They were no longer invisible.

May you like

And sometimes, that is where survival finally begins.

THE END.
