Part Two: The Scar That Should Not Match

Adrian Vale didn’t sleep that night.

He sat in his office, staring at the boy’s file until the words began to lose meaning.

DNA MATCH: 99.98%

The number no longer felt like proof.

It felt like a trap.

He opened the medical report again.

The scar.

Left rib.

Thin surgical line.

Identical to Lucas’s body.

Identical to the child he lost.

Or thought he lost.

Adrian exhaled sharply.

“No one can fake that,” he muttered.

But even as he said it, something inside him resisted.

Because the memory he trusted most…

was the one he could no longer fully feel.

He pulled out the old photograph again.

The missing boy.

Lucas Vale.

Age four.

Smiling.

Holding a toy plane.

Adrian’s hands tightened.

“Where are you,” he whispered.

But the room did not answer.

May you like

Only silence did.

And silence… felt rehearsed.
