Word spread through the mansion within minutes.
Guests left the ballroom and gathered at the foot of the grand staircase.
No one spoke.
They simply watched.
The bride looked around desperately.
"This isn't what it sounds like."
"I was trying to discipline him."
Adrian removed his wedding ring.
Less than an hour earlier...
He had promised to spend the rest of his life with her.
Now he placed the ring into her trembling hand.
"My son lost his mother."
"He was never going to lose his father too."
She reached toward him.
"Adrian, please..."
He stepped back.
"The wedding is over."
The wedding planner quietly instructed the musicians to stop playing.
The photographer lowered his camera.
The officiant removed his stole.
One by one...
The guests walked away.
