Chapter 5: The Heirloom Returns

Chapter 5: The Heirloom Returns
The bracelet was recovered from a private jewelry broker before it could be sold.
Victoria held it carefully in her hands.
Tears filled her eyes.
"My mother wore it every anniversary until she died."
She looked at Emily.
"I accused the wrong person."
Emily nodded gently.
"I know why."
Victoria shook her head.
"No."
"I believed evidence without searching for the truth."
Several months later, Emily accepted a new position with another family.
Before she left, Victoria handed her a handwritten letter.
Inside were only a few words.
"Trust is precious. I failed to protect yours. I'm sorry."
Emily folded the letter and smiled.
The bracelet returned to the Hayes family vault.
But the greater treasure that day wasn't the heirloom.
It was the lesson everyone in the mansion learned:
Evidence can point a finger.
