CHAPTER 1: The Fall of the Heiress

CHAPTER 1: The Fall of the Heiress

The royal wedding hall was built to impress kings.

Gold-trimmed pillars. Crystal chandeliers. A sea of nobles in silk and tailored black suits.

Then—

the collapse.

An elderly heiress staggered backward, her hand slipping from the table before she hit the marble floor hard.

A sharp gasp ran through the crowd.

“Lady Elowen!”

She tried to rise, but her body trembled violently. Fear, not age, was written across her face.

Standing over her was a man in a dark tailored suit—calm, precise, merciless.

The family lawyer.

He dropped a stack of legal documents onto the floor beside her.

“Sign now,” he said coldly.

Flash cameras flickered.

Whispers rose instantly.

“She has no power left…”

“It’s over…”

“She’ll lose everything…”

The heiress shook her head weakly.

“I… I can’t…”

The lawyer leaned down.

“You will.”

The hall went silent again.

And then—

May you like

a voice cut through it.

“No.”
