Months later, spring sunlight filled the nursery of a small family home.

The young mother rocked her healthy baby to sleep.

A soft knock came at the door.

Detective Harris smiled.

"I thought you'd like to know."

She looked up.

"The case is over."

Justice had followed the evidence.

Not rumors.

Not influence.

Not wealth.

The young mother looked down at her child.

"I was so afraid that no one would believe me."

"They did," Harris replied.

"Because you asked for help before it was too late—and because the truth was supported by people who chose to speak up."

Outside, birds sang in the garden as the afternoon breeze carried the scent of blooming flowers through the open window.

The mansion where fear had ruled was only a memory now.
