Chapter 4: A New Beginning

Chapter 4: A New Beginning
One year later...
The cemetery looked different.
Fresh flowers surrounded Ethan's headstone.
A little boy, now learning to walk, toddled carefully across the grass while his grandmother and Lily watched with warm smiles.
The child stopped in front of the stone and placed a single daisy beside it.
"He always does that," Lily whispered.
"As if he knows."
His grandmother knelt beside him.
"Your daddy was brave."
"He was kind."
"And he would have loved you more than words could ever say."
The little boy reached up and wrapped his tiny arms around her neck.
In that moment, she realized she had not returned to the cemetery simply to mourn her son.
She had returned to introduce him to the future he never had the chance to see.
As the afternoon sun filtered through the trees, grief no longer felt like an ending.
It had become a bridge connecting generations through love, memory, and hope.
Sometimes, the greatest gift left behind by those we lose is not found in the past.
