Daniel refused to leave the hospital.
Instead, he called the police.

They found a journal written in Noah's childish handwriting.

Many entries ended with the same heartbreaking sentence.
"She said Dad won't believe me."
Detectives also recovered recordings from the home's baby monitor.
Marissa's gentle public voice was gone.
"You don't cry unless I tell you."
"If you tell your father, he'll think you're making up stories again."
Daniel listened to every recording.
