Margaret finally spoke.
"Tell him."
Vanessa shook her head.
"I won't."
Margaret sighed heavily.
"I warned you years ago."
Daniel stared between them.
Margaret closed her eyes.
"Vanessa didn't frame Emily because of a necklace."
"She framed her because she recognized her."
Emily looked confused.
Margaret continued.
"Emily's mother worked as my personal assistant."
"Before she died..."
"...she discovered financial fraud inside the family trust."
Daniel's eyes widened.
Margaret nodded.
"Millions disappeared."
"Someone forged signatures."
Daniel slowly turned toward Vanessa.

Vanessa stepped backward.
"It wasn't supposed to happen this way."
Daniel's voice became dangerously calm.
"You stole from my family."
"And Emily's mother knew."
Vanessa whispered,
