Chapter 3: A Family Reclaimed

Chapter 3: A Family Reclaimed

Six months later, the mansion hosted another party.

But this one felt completely different.

No pretension.

No manipulation.

No hidden agendas.

Just family.

Sofia sat at the head table between her parents, proudly showing everyone a drawing she had made.

In it were three figures holding hands beneath a giant sun.

“That's us,” she explained.

Alejandro laughed.

Lucia wiped away a tear.

Guests smiled as Sofia continued talking excitedly.

The child who once wondered who her mother was now never let Lucia out of sight.

The woman who had been forced into the kitchen now sat beside the owner of the house.

Not as a servant.

Not as a guest.

But as someone who belonged.

As the evening came to an end, Sofia climbed into Alejandro's lap.

“Daddy?”

“Yes, sweetheart?”

“Promise you'll never let anyone take Mommy away again.”

The room grew quiet.

Alejandro looked at Lucia.

Then back at his daughter.

“I promise.”

Sofia nodded, satisfied.

Then she rested her head against his chest.

For years, lies had separated them.

Fear had controlled them.

Other people had written their story.

Not anymore.

Now, at last, they would write it themselves.

May you like

And for the first time, it would be a story with no missing pages.

The End.
