CHAPTER 3: THE END OF THE CEREMONY

CHAPTER 3: THE END OF THE CEREMONY
Inside the ballroom, the bride finally removed her veil.
Slowly.
Carefully.
Like she was taking off a version of herself she no longer recognized.
A bridesmaid tried to approach her, but she raised a hand.
“No,” she said quietly. “It’s okay. Don’t follow.”
Her voice was calm now.
Too calm.
The kind of calm that arrives only after everything else has already fallen apart.
She looked at the scattered petals on the floor.
Then toward the doors where they had left.
And for the first time, she understood something simple:
She hadn’t just made a mistake.
She had erased a place in someone’s life she could never step back into.
Outside, the groom helped his mother stand again.
“We should go home,” he said.
She nodded.
And as they walked away from the building, the music inside never stopped—but it no longer belonged to them.
May you like
It belonged to a moment that had already ended.
A moment no one inside the ballroom would ever forget.
