Chapter 2 – The First 72 Hours of Silence

Nathan didn’t notice the world collapsing.

Not at first.

He was too busy answering Camille’s calls.

Too busy pretending the wedding night he abandoned didn’t already have consequences.

At 7:03 a.m., his first investor pulled out.

He didn’t see it.

At 9:41 a.m., his largest supplier “paused all negotiations.”

He ignored it.

By noon, three board members had resigned.

Still, he smiled at his phone like nothing could touch him.

Because in his mind…

I was still the wife waiting at home.

Still the woman who would forgive him.

Still the woman who needed him more than he needed anything.

By nightfall, that illusion began to crack.

His corporate access was denied.

His executive cards stopped working.

Security at his headquarters refused him entry.

And for the first time, he said my name without arrogance.

“…Where is she?”

No one answered.

Because no one knew anymore.

May you like

Or more accurately…

No one was allowed to know.
