Richard rushed toward the front door.
Standing outside were two police officers accompanied by Emily's attorney, Michael Carter.
"Good evening," Officer Reynolds said. "We received a request to perform a welfare check."
Emily stepped into view, still rubbing her bruised neck.
"I'm the one who requested it."
Michael looked directly at her.
"Emily, are you all right?"
She nodded.
"My phone recorded everything."
Richard immediately protested.
"This is a misunderstanding."
Officer Reynolds calmly replied, "Sir, we'll determine that."
Emily handed over her phone.
As the recording played, every threat echoed through the hallway.
